Frisco, Texas-based GENBAND, best known for its IP multimedia application and infrastructure products/solutions, is getting "cloudy."
The company on Tuesday introduced NUVia, a cloud-services offering designed for service providers and channel partners to brand and offer Unified Communications and Rich Communications Suite (RCS) Service applications to enterprise and consumer markets.
GENBAND says NUVia allows service providers to speed up the commercial delivery of multimedia communications applications with minimal upfront capital expenses. NUViA offers a pay-as-you-grow business model and the ability for providers to extend their service footprint, as well as a flexible service delivery model that allows them to fully customize and differentiate their branded services.
The NUViA Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) offering includes HD voice, video, multimedia messaging, mobility, conferencing, Web collaboration, desktop clients and fixed and mobile convergence. NUViA RCS allows wireless operators to take to market extensive multimedia communications services and experiences that GENBAND says go well beyond standard RCS capabilities for consumers.
"NUViA offers service providers a radically different model for deploying communications services from what is available today," said Jeff Townley, president of GENBAND’s services business unit and global operations. "Service providers and channel partners can leverage NUViA’s unprecedented deployment options, including hybrid models with the ability to augment the NUViA-delivered services with in-house applications, to deliver customers a unique, customized and cost-effective alternative to services derived from premises-based equipment."
GENBAND also announced its "Making Networks Smarter" vision and solutions, an initiative that marks what the company calls the continued evolution of its portfolio under three strategic solution pillars that enable a "smart core," "smart edge" and "smart experience" for its customers, helping them to drive revenue.
