Billing & CRM Customer: ntl Telewest
Vendor: Convergys
ntl Telewest, the United Kingdom’s largest provider of residential broadband and triple-play services, has signed a licensing agreement for Convergys’ ICOMS customer care and billing solution. ntl will replace four architecturally and technologically different legacy billing systems with ICOMS, including network inventory management capabilities. Once implemented in 2007, ICOMS will be the single billing and customer care infrastructure supporting more than 5 million customers. ntl and Telewest recently merged; Telewest has been using ICOMS since 1996. Convergys will perform business analysis, software design and development, implementation, migration and testing.

Customer: Midcontinent Communications
Vendor: Convergys
Midcontinent Communications has extended for 5 years its contract for ICOMS, Convergys’ convergent billing and customer care solution. The original contract was signed in 1998. Midcontinent, a full-service provider, supports connections in over 200 communities serving over 200,000 customers in North and South Dakota with Convergys’ solution. The company said that it also will now use ICOMS enhancements Customer Service Management and Lifetime Value Optimizer.

Customer: Bell Canada

Amdocs announced an extension of its managed services relationship with Bell Canada to support billing services across the organization through 2012. Greg Kowal, senior vice president for enterprise systems and billing infrastructure at Bell Canada, stated that “Amdocs will work with Bell to deliver a significantly improved customer experience while simplifying our billing operations.”

Telstra has selected Amdocs for its IT Transformation Program. The multi-year, multi-million-dollar contract includes the Amdocs Service Management Suite and Cramer6 OSS Suite. The Service Management Suite enables a unified service view, a capability that links OSS and BSS processes, to enable a complete view of the customer, the network and the service. The suite also incorporates Amdocs Order to Activation solution and Amdocs Customer Centric Service Assurance solution.

Vendor: BSG
Cable and Wireless International signed an agreement with BSG for data clearing services for more than 20 Cable and Wireless subsidiaries and associates across the globe, covering more than 1,000 roaming partners.

Mediation, Rating and Revenue Assurance

Customer: TV Cabo
Vendor: cVidya
cVidya Networks has been chosen by TV Cabo for a data integrity solution based on its MoneyMap revenue assurance product. The solution enables operators to correlate and consolidate information from all network operations and business systems. Through an ongoing process, it automatically detects problem areas in which profit margins are decreasing as a result of revenue leakage or inefficient resource use. TV Cabo is a subsidiary of PT Multimedia, a Portuguese cable and satellite operator with more than 1.4 million customers.

Customer: Marshall Islands NTA
Vendor: EIS
Equinox Information Systems announced that Marshall Islands National Telecommunications Authority has licensed the Collector AFT/EIU mediation system as well as ExtractCDR to automate its CDR transmission process. Collector AFT/EIU provides real-time delivery of usage records and supports a number of switch types and communications protocols, including X.25, TCP/IP and FTP. ExtractCDR transforms raw switch data and billing records into usable formats.

Customer: T-Com
Vendor: Axiom
T-Com, the broadband/fixed-network business unit of Deutsche Telekom, has selected Axiom’s AXIOSS Suite for the network provisioning of its IP backbone. The project will automate end-to-end service fulfillment. Gareth Senior, CEO at Axiom Systems, commented that “T-Com is a key customer acquisition for Axiom Systems, [as it is] one of the largest service providers in the world.”

Customer: Cincinnati Bell
Vendor: Atreus
Cincinnati Bell has deployed Atreus’ IP Service Provisioning Solution to automate the provisioning and management of its business trunking service. The solution has enabled the provider to deliver business voice services to enterprises at varying stages of IP deployment, ranging from customers looking to leverage their existing PBX equipment to those requiring a hosted VoIP service.

Customer: TI Sparkle
Vendor: Syndesis
Syndesis announced that its service fulfillment solution has been chosen by Telecom Italia Sparkle (TI Sparkle). The product offering, now in production, includes automated activation, provisioning and discovery across the company’s international IP network. Network reconciliation of TI Sparkle’s inventory system will follow in the next phase of the multi-phase, multi-year license agreement, which is being implemented in conjunction with Datamat, a systems integrator. As a result of the installation, TI Sparkle’s equipment can be activated and configured from one location. TI Sparkle, a full-service provider, was established by Telecom Italia SpA in 2003 to develop and consolidate international wholesale and retail business.

Customer: South Central Rural Telephone
Vendor: ETI Software
South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative of Glasgow, Ky., has deployed ETI Software Solutions’ VideoDirect commercial insertion system to enable local advertising insertion over major cable television channels. As a result, local businesses can market their products and services directly to subscribers. VideoDirect’s capabilities include a traffic and billing subsystem that encompasses contract management and order entry of the advertiser, invoicing, generation of detailed affidavits and accounts receivable management.
