IPTV WORLD: Sigma Systems Enhances Resi Video Solution

Sigma Systems says it has greatly improved its Residential Video Solution for IPTV. Enhancements include enabling delivery of video on demand, advanced advertising, and digital and personal video recording (DVR/PVR). The announcement was made at the IPTV World Forum in London.

Sigma's Residential Video Solution for IPTV allows telcos and ISPs to quickly deploy digital TV services and offer bundle packages that can include VOD and DVR/PVR. Combined with Sigma's Service Management Platform, Residential Video Solution for IPTV enables service providers to offer triple- and quad-play services from a common OSS platform.

The Sigma Video Solution for IPTV enables telecom service providers to:

• deploy standalone or bundled IPTV services, including VOD, PPV and DVR;
• add voice, broadband and wireless services from the same platform for triple- or quad-play offerings;
• offer converged services, such as caller ID and unified messaging to the set-top box;
• handle order management and provisioning of customer premises equipment;
• increase revenue by introducing Sigma's advanced advertising solution;
• and remove service silos for simplified management of all services on a common platform.
