Arindam Banerjee, program manager in the Yankee Group’s Enabling Technologies Service Provider group, said Xeround Sound's performance in the NDB benchmark provides excellent validation of the power of the system.

Xeround also built its own storage and retrieval mechanism and protocol. One of the primary differences is that Xeround Sound is built using a single index for multiple partitions in the database in order to maximize the input/output process.

“Traditional databases were built as very rich relational database structures, like SQL, and not as high-performance, high-volume transactional systems. Our system is engineered toward the latter,” Yarkoni said.

Xeround was founded in 2005 and is funded by Benchmark Capital and Giza Venture Capital, with headquarters in Bellevue and development in Israel.
