IT Budget Woes
By Marc Hayden
Businesses around the world are looking at opportunities to drive down operational costs. In parallel, communications service providers are looking for ways to generate new revenue, reduce churn and increase value to their clients. A study conducted by the Society of Information Management (2010 SIM IT Trends Survey) finds that, on average, companies allocated 3.87 percent of their total revenue for their IT budget. In the same study, as well as others conducted by Gartner and IDC, companies allocated 70 percent or more of that budget to running existing systems.
How much of your IT budget is spent on running existing systems? If you don’t know, take a couple of minutes to crunch the numbers using this ROI calculator. You may be surprised how much money you could be saving.
