GTE TEAM GRABS $300 MILLION FEDERAL WIRELESS CONTRACT

In mid-November GTE, teamed with Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile, was awarded the Federal Wireless Telecommunications Services (FWTS) contract to provide wireless voice and data services to more than 3 million federal employees nationwide. The eight-year contract is worth approximately $300 million and allows both civilian and military customers to obtain services and equipment at reduced government rates. GTE will serve as the single point of contact for all purchasing under the program.
