SCALABILITY BENCHMARK SET FOR BILLING SYSTEMS

Sequent Computer Systems Inc., Oracle Corp. and US Telecom Advanced Technology Systems Inc. (US Telecom ATS) announced the completion of the Telemax-U benchmark. It is designed to measure scalability for customer care and billing systems, indicating that the system can accommodate more than 10 million business and residential lines billed per month. The benchmark was set running a Sequent data server with a single instance of an Oracle data server. The system provided bills for an 80 percent residential, 20 percent business customer subscriber mix with seven line items per residential line and 12 per business line.
