LHS PARTNERS SEPERATELY WITH ANDERSEN, ALCATEL

Portugal Telecom, which will host the 1998 World Telecom Expo, has selected Andersen Consulting and LHS Group Inc. to jointly implement billing and customer care at the Expo. The Expo will have approximately 500 exhibitors and 15 million attendees. In other news, Alcatel and LHS have entered into an agreement to allow Alcatel to license and market LHS' BSCS billing and customer care system. For several months, Alcatel has been including BSCS as part of its turnkey network project offerings and has taken orders for 10 systems, including from Tunisie Telecom and Uzbek Telecom.
