HNC SOFTWARE ACQUIRES ATACS

HNC Software Inc., based in San Diego, announced it has acquired the ATACS product line from Bedford Associates of Conn. for an undisclosed amount. ATACS (advanced telecommunications abuse control system) is fraud management software for wireline, wireless and Internet service providers. ATACS is Unix-based and was designed for high-end wireless and Internet networks. It is currently used by WorldCom, Teleport Communications and Cable & Wireless Communications. ATACS will be folded into HNC's Technology & New Markets business unit.
