AT&T-UNISOURCE CHOOSES KENAN
AT&T-Unisource Communications Services, a pan-European provider of corporate telecommunications services, has selected Arbor/BP software from Kenan Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lucent Technologies, for it billing and customer care. Arbor/BP has been implemented at AT&T-Unisource in conjunction with Andersen Consulting and will replace the five existing billing systems throughout the organization. Kenan will also be providing direct support and product upgrades to the carrier. In other news, Embratel, Brazil’s largest long distance provider, has also selected Kenan’s Arbor/BP billing and customer care system. The two-year, multimillion-dollar contract is the first billing agreement Lucent has signed since acquiring Kenan Systems in February. The agreement calls for Lucent Technologies Network Systems of Brazil (LTNS) to integrate Arbor/BP and to provide Lucent’s NetCare services designed to support the roll-out of the system. MCI WorldCom bought the controlling ownership of Embratel during the privatization auction of Telebras.
