LHS PROVIDES BILLING FOR RETEVISION, MOVIL MONACCO TELECOM

Spanish telecommunications consortium Retevision Movil, S.A., of Barcelona, recently selected LHS Group Inc. and NET, (Norsistemas Endesa Telesoft), of Madrid to deliver a comprehensive billing and customer care system for it mobile telecommunications service, Amena. Under agreement terms, LHS delivered the license for BSCS, its billing and customer care system. NET implemented the system and provided related services and external systems. The new network covers the cities of Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Zaragoza and Bilbao. In other news, LHS Group Inc. and Alcatel Telecom Software & Services, of Paris, will provide a comprehensive customer care and billing system to Monaco Telecom S.A.M., for its wireline service. Alcatel, with support from LHS, will migrate the operator’s 33,000 fixed-line subscribers from the existing billing system to the latest release of LHS’ BSCS software 5.21. BSCS Version 5.21 supports additional wireline voice and data services. LHS also announced that Telecom Personal Argentina, a venture owned in part by LHS global partners Telecom Italia Mobile and France Telecom, recenlty licensed BSCS to support Telecom Personal’s TDMA-based wireless service for up to 750,000 subscribers. Telecom Personal also selected Andersen Consulting to implement a new, fully integrated customer care and billing solution using BSCS.
