Telemac Corp. and Motorola, Inc. signed a licensing agreement to integrate Telemac’s prepaid software into Motorola’s analog and digital phone handsets. Telemac prepaid technology is designed to reduce an operator’s cost of offering a prepaid program by eliminating hardware and software and the traffic associated with requests for updated billing information. Telemac’s patented IMA module will be integrated into select Motorola GSM phone handsets and future handsets. Meanwhile, GSM Cellular (Pty) Ltd. has entered into a technology license and development agreement with Telemac. GSM will launch prepaid programs during 1999 utilizing Telemac prepaid technology.
