CheckFree Corp. announced CheckFree Genesis 2000, an integrated electronic billing and payment engine. The product is designed to allow clients to offer their customers an electronic billing and payment service that integrates electronic bills, “pay-everyone” capabilities, and an infrastructure designed to support up to 30 million customers.
Genesis features CheckFree’s Web billing and payment and includes a choice of front-end options based upon bank, brokerage and credit union models. It also includes the company’s “Pay Everyone” service, through which end consumers can make payments from their computers to anyone to whom they would otherwise write a check, including electronic billers and business that do not present electronically, such as day care centers or lawn maintenance providers. Such payments can also be sent to individuals, such as children in college.
CheckFree has also unveiled its CheckFree Web Billing and Payment 3.0 for financial institutions and other consumer service providers. The system features a highly brandable user interface for financial institutions that ties into the company’s Genesis 2000 EBP engine. It also supports multiple accounts, allowing consumers to pay electronic bills from their choice of checking, savings or money market accounts; co-subscriber support, allowing consumers to designate two authorized users for a single electronic billing and payment service; and online event tracking from their banking or brokerage Web site.
