WESTERN WIRELESS, VOICESTREAM SELECT AMDOCS

Western Wireless Corp., a U.S. cellular carrier, has recently signed an agreement with Amdocs to implement Amdocs’ Ensemble customer care and billing system. Amdocs is also providing Western with implementation and support services.

VoiceStream, a U.S. GSM provider, has contracted with Amdocs to implement Ensemble. VoiceStream will use Ensemble to support all of its subscribers, company officials said. Amdocs is providing VoiceStream with implementation, training and support services and will also be responsible for data center operations.

Ensemble is designed to support local, cellular, paging, long-distance, international, cable, Internet and IP services. The system includes a customer hierarchy facility and multiservice rating engine. It utilizes a scalable, multitier, client-server UNIX platform.
