CheckFree recently won a contract to provide Genesis 2000 EBPP functionality to Pacific Bell and Southwestern Bell. Customers in California, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Kansas will be able to view and pay their bills at nearly 200 Web sites or through financial management software that uses CheckFree’s EBPP.
AT&T also recently joined CheckFree’s EBPP network. AT&T customers can now view and pay their long-distance phone bills at more than 150 Web sites. DSL provider SBC Communications will use NightFire Software Inc. to establish DSL links for competitors. Using NightFire’s eSupplierExpress, a hosted loop ordering service, should cut down on installation time and lower the cost to CLECs offering DSL service, the RBOC said.
