Schlumberger to Support AT&T’s GSM Network

Schlumberger Ltd.’s Test and Transactions division has signed an MOU with AT&T Wireless to support the carrier’s GSM network platform with Subscriber Identify Modules (SIM) smart cards. The carrier plans to offer wireless data services by overlaying a GSM/GPRS platform to its existing TDMA digital network. Schlumberger will provide Simera Classic SIM cards to support GSM handsets. AT&T Wireless will also use the Aremis platform for tracking, billing, configuring and activating value-added services for the cards.
