An east African alliance of mobile operators, led by Safaricom, has chosen Redknee's Mobile Money Services for its international prepaid roaming top-up service.
The alliance, consisting of six operators, together serve an estimated 13 million subscribers. The alliance will use the capabilities of the Redknee solution to provide roaming recharge services and transfer of airtime.
The Redknee system will be used to enhance its borderless mobile network service which allows the subscribers of any alliance member operator to move freely across five countries just as they would on their home network.
