Comptel Corporation announced this week it has secured a $4 million contract to deliver Axiom’s AXIOSS broadband services provisioning software to a major Indian telecom provider. The AXIOSS broadband services provisioning software suite was developed by Axiom Systems, which was acquired by Comptel in April.
Comptel estimates that $2.2 million of the contract will be recognized as revenue during 2008. Company CEO, Sami Ervio, said this is a major broadband service fulfillment delivery for Comptel following its recent acquisition of Axiom Systems. “The deal further strengthens our established position in the fast growing Indian telecom market,” he said in a statement.
The win comes on the heels of news from Comptel in May that said its solutions are used by Indian providers to serve nearly 200 million customers in the country. From the success the company has found on the Indian subcontinent, it now claims the following providers as customers of its Dynamic OSS solutions: Bharti Airtel (India), Vodafone (India), Tata Teleservices (India), Idea (India), GrameenPhone (Bangladesh), Banglalink (Bangladesh) and Dialog (Sri Lanka). Comptel has also formed partnerships with global and local system integrators, such as IBM, Satyam Computer Services and TCS.
