Martin Group CEO Jim Odom welcomed his guests at the company’s annual User Meeting and Technology Conference with the news that his company has signed a letter of intent to acquire several technology assets from CopperCom Acquisition Corp.

Odom also announced a new product called ESP that will be available in the fourth quarter. It’s Martin Group’s answer to IMS for the rural telecom market.

Martin Group will acquire CopperCom’s SwitchMaxx and VoiceMaxx products, as well as flow-through provisioning software ─ enhanced services software for customer care and advanced messaging.

The company will leverage the CopperCom technology as well as its OASIS operations support systems solution and OMNIA, its business support system solution, to create the foundation of its enhanced services platform, which will be known as ESP.

“We will have one platform for service delivery with connections into our OASIS provisioning systems,” Odom said. “It will help you generate revenue you don’t have today.”

And it will do so by enhancing service that his customers already offer, such as call termination and conference calling, Odom said. “And the best way to secure loyalty is through enhanced products,” he said.

The deal is expected to close at the end of this month. Martin Group will continue to provide product support and maintenance for SwitchMaxx and VoiceMaxx customers.
