Patni Computer Systems has announced the release of Patni atoms™ for Oracle. It’s a prepackaged business process platform that telecommunications and media providers can use to speed up their business and IT transformation programs. It enables providers to launch new wireless, phone, cable, Internet and media product and service offerings quickly and economically.
Patni atoms™, short for “Accelerated Telecom Operations and Media Solutions,” consists of preconfigured telecom and media business processes coupled with the integrated Patni services (consulting, systems integration, ADM and managed services) wrapped in a global delivery model.
The company says by using the platform, telco and media providers can deliver new services without taking on the risk and uncertainty of a more complex enterprise-level implementation. The solution offers existing customers and a large pool of new customer targets a cost-effective, flexible means of getting to market quickly before a market opportunity closes.
“Communications and media providers are facing a financial crunch and massive pressure to get to market quickly with new services. They do not have the luxury of time or room for failure in IT transformation projects that get quite complex,” said Raj Badarinath, Associate Vice President for Communications, Media and Entertainment at Patni.
atoms™ is one of two new offerings based on Oracle technology Patni is unveiling this week at Oracle OpenWorld 2008 in San Francisco. The other offering helps financial exchange operators automate conversion processes integral to a regulated environment.
