DigitalRoute has announced that Swisscom is using MediationZone to enable the rollout of all services delivered over its PSTN, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA and WLAN networks. Within the scope of the second phase, MediationZone replaces two legacy mobile mediation systems, and enables subscribers to access mobile data services seamlessly over WLAN and 3G data network. The third and final MediationZone deployment will conclude the evolution toward a convergent architecture, and form a consolidated horizontal mediation layer capable of managing any online or offline processing requirement.
Swisscom have implemented the second phase completely on its own without any support from DigitalRoute or a system integrator.
"This is our second phase towards a fully convergent mediation platform using MediationZone. We are on time compared to our forecast and MediationZone is at this stage completely fulfilling our expectations of self-sufficiency and cost-effectiveness", said Kurt Hirsbrunner, application maintenance manager, Billing Mediations, at Swisscom.
"We are happy to contribute to Swisscom's success story with its convergent mediation strategy. This second phase has been launched by Swisscom's highly skilled technical and project management teams on time, proving the product's functionality and flexibility in a fully convergent environment. Swisscom has high expectations on delivery and technical performance and this partnership is an excellent reference point for us," said vice president of Sales, Kari Miettinen at DigitalRoute.
