Tektronix Communications, a Texas-based company, this week announced upgrades to its GeoProbe platform that specifically address the cable MSO market.
The Tektronix GeoProbe solution will enhance MSO’s capabilities in network and service level monitoring to tackle the increasing demands on cable networks to effectively manage performance and ensure Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Service (QoS), said the company.
“The enhancements to the GeoProbe solution are based on the specific network monitoring capabilities required by today’s cable MSOs, a market which has been served by Tektronix for years with our Active Assurance test solution,” said Mark Driedger, vice president and general manager, Network Management, Tektronix Communications. “As networks become more complex, and customer demand for triple-play services increases, cable MSOs are in an ideal position to leverage advanced network monitoring solutions to gain a competitive edge – and GeoProbe provides the breadth to monitor next generation and legacy networks.”
Tektronix is focusing on the cable industry with the addition of Dynamic Quality of Service (DQoS) and Common Open Policy Service (COPS) protocol support for GeoProbe. With the COPS enhancement to GeoProbe, the company says MSOs are able to quickly and effectively optimize the bandwidth of networks and provide the highest level of voice and broadband data quality to its customers – ultimately increasing customer retention and loyalty.
