Advanced Info Service (AIS), Thailand’s largest wireless operator, has deployed Convergys' Infinys Rating and Billing 3.0, designed to support future subscriber growth plans.

A longstanding Convergys client, AIS chose to deploy Convergys’ Infinys 3.0 to support the launch of on-demand 3G services and upgraded network capacity for its customers. AIS is also taking advantage of new product functionality available in Infinys 3.0, including Costed Event Partitioning (CEP) and Distributed Revenue Processing (DRP), to improve performance and enhance operational processes throughout its business.

Convergys completed the upgrade on time and on budget, migrating more than seven million accounts onto Infinys Rating and Billing 3.0 in the process.

“Convergys is to be congratulated for the smooth transition to Infinys 3.0. The Convergys team worked well with AIS to identify potential issues in the transition, successfully minimizing any impact to AIS’ billing and rating environment,” said Arpattra Sringkarrinkul, executive vice president of Solutions for AIS. “With Infinys 3.0 now in place, AIS can offer the best packages of services to our customers and enjoy a stronger competitive edge in postpaid services.”

“The commitment from AIS senior management to the Infinys 3.0 deployment has been excellent. It reflects AIS’ understanding of the wireless marketplace, its customers, and how best to garner future opportunities for revenue growth within the business,” said Iain Hackett, Convergys vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific. “By upgrading to Infinys, AIS will be able to act on these opportunities and give its customers the enhanced services they demand.”

Currently, Convergys’ consulting services team is helping AIS increase customer loyalty and sales, turning the contact center into a sales and service center.
