Telespree Communications is enhancing its customer care portfolio for cellcos by connecting its Tier 1 and Tier 2 carrier customers to the Transaction Network Services (TNS) network. TNS will provide authentication and activation services for wireless devices.

Telespree has created a self-service platform that makes wireless devices into self-service terminals, so mobile operators can let subscribers do their own automated account management via their handsets. The TNS deal allows Telespree to offer a fuller all-in-one customer care offering, so new mobile customers will be able to turn on their phones and activate their new accounts from the device itself. This enables wireless carriers to in theory recognize revenue faster, and reduce their expenses associated with customer care and in-store activations.

Telespree is using a suite of TNS SS7 signaling services and hosting solutions to make the interconnections.

“With technology continuing to evolve, wireless carriers are increasingly recognizing the need for enhanced signaling and hosting services as a way to gain competitive advantage,” said Chuck Leppert, executive vice president and general manager of the telecommunication service division for TNS.
