A tier-one communications service provider has awarded Redknee a multimillion dollar contract for a solution that it says will give wireless subscribers a better mobile experience. It sets individual user limits and preferences for voice, text, and data services. The company anticipates that the bulk of the revenue from this contract will be recognized during fiscal 2009.

By allowing wireless subscribers to personalize individual settings within their family or corporate accounts, subscribers can control costs, better manage time, and help keep adult and other inappropriate content off of the handset. Families can help ensure a safer wireless experience with better control over monthly bills, while corporate users can reduce costs and protect accounts from misuse or abuse, said Redknee.

This solution is part of Redknee’s new Next Generation Rating and Charging portfolio, which allows network operators to effectively differentiate themselves from their competitors, while boosting consumer loyalty and customer satisfaction.

“We are delighted to have secured this contract to provide a leading U.S. operator with a solution from our Next Generation Rating & Charging portfolio. Redknee, with its real-time capabilities, continues to gain market share in the growing wireless segment. Additionally, we are also focused on addressing the needs of fixed, broadband, and satellite operators - further increasing our addressable market opportunities. Redknee’s strategy is to leverage the strength of our solutions to pursue the high growth markets of Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, while addressing growth segments of Tier-1 operators in Europe and North America," said Lucas Skoczkowski, Redknee CEO.

Redknee is not naming the tier-one operator.
