The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) has announced its third annual Software as a Service (SaaS) conference for the federal IT market. It will be held Feb. 25 in Washington, D.C.

The trade association expects the Obama administration to revolutionize the federal IT infrastructure toward an open, interoperable, and more citizen-friendly environment. Discussions at the SaaS/Gov conference will center around these issues. Further, SaaS and cloud computing are helping to drive today's technical developments and will also play an important role during the conference.

SaaS/Gov is presented by SIIA and software and services consultant INPUT. It will feature presentations from both government and industry leaders - including salesforce.com, NetSuite and Google - as they explore ways SaaS is growing in the government marketplace and strategies for ISVs to market their capabilities in the public sector.

Presentations will examine how cloud computing has improved the operations of the U.S. Census Bureau, District of Columbia Government and other agencies.
