Blueslice Networks says it’s joined forces with BroadSoft to make the IMS subscriber data management model a reality. The companies have completed interoperability testing between the Blueslice HSS 3000 and BroadWorks, BroadSoft’s VoIP application platform. They say they are working together to further innovate in this market segment.
Consolidation of subscriber information into a logical, distributed, subscriber database is a key element of the IMS-based 3G and 4G architecture. Moreover, it is a critical factor in reducing operational costs and simplifying subscriber provisioning while speeding-up new revenue-generating services, said the companies. Using the Blueslice HSS 3000 alongside BroadWorks, mobile carriers will experience a natural evolution from their centralized HLR-based data, while allowing for the provisioning and managing of one database for multiple applications.
“We are very pleased to be a preferred HSS database for BroadSoft’s applications and we applaud their leadership in this space. This is concrete proof of the viability of the centralized user database model,” said Frederic Bastien, VP, Product Line Management for Blueslice Networks.
“As operators build out their IMS networks, it’s critical they choose a flexible, feature rich subscriber data management solution that scales to handle mission-critical applications. BroadWorks has a variety of data-intensive applications that rely heavily on the HSS when deployed in IMS architectures,” said Ken Rokoff, vice president of Business Development for BroadSoft. “The Blueslice HSS 3000 provides the flexibility and scalability that is required to host BroadWorks subscriber and service profile data. The success of the BroadSoft/Blueslice interoperability testing puts us at the forefront of our customers’ architectural evolutions.”
