Aircom International and HP struck a partnership deal to offer fixed-line service providers with a network management solution that combines Aircom’s performance management tools with HP’s widely deployed OpenView network management system.

The companies will deliver an integrated network management system to one of the largest fixed-line operators in Europe, that features Aircom’s Optima performance management solution supplying added reporting capabilities to HP OpenView.

The solution will help a Turkish operator upgrade its existing, multi-vendor network and roll out next generation voice, video, data and other high speed DSL-based services to in excess of 40 million customers. Aircom and HP will be managing a network comprising gear from at least 10 different vendors.

“We work with operators on their strategy as they move from 2G to 3G to 4G,” said Marty Smuin, president of the Americas for AIRCOM International. “We can also assist operators in leveraging existing infrastructure, especially those operators using 2G, which is the vast majority of the world today.”

Optima is part of Aircom’s enterprise suite of products. It delivers performance management across multi-vendor and technology networks from a single platform, which will be installed at a central Network Operations Centre, but will provide reliable performance and fault management statistics to a widely dispersed team of users.

Aircom also separately announced a deal with Croatia’s Vipnet to supply its Optima Performance Management solutions across both the Core and Radio Access networks and standardize OSS tools across the entire Vipnet network.

Tomislav Makar, director of mag access networks and Vipnet Access Network Development Director, said advanced performance management is a key factor for the high level of engineering required for continuation of HSPA+ implementation. “With its global footprint and solid track record of delivering performance measurement solutions to operators around the world, it quickly became apparent that we could trust Aircom to help significantly reduce our [operations expenses], which was a key factor in the decision making process.”

The Optima solution will be fully installed across Vipnet’s multi-vendor network by the end of April. Aircom will also provide system training to Vipnet engineers upon completion.
