Bridgewater Systems made a series of announcements today at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
The company unveiled its Subscriber Data Broker, designed to bring together rich, dynamic subscriber data with the tools to broker that data to multiple systems and applications.
Bridgewater also announced the new Policy Controller 1000 and 3000 systems. They are carrier-grade, standards-based systems that intelligently manage network resources and subscriber access to applications in real time, according to the company. The new systems feature Bridgewater's Smart Caps fair usage bandwidth controls and certified transaction capacity that enable service providers to improve the subscriber experience as mobile data services grow.
Finally, the company announced it has received a multimillion dollar order from a large, North American mobile service provider for the Policy Controller. It’s capable of managing the Tier 1 operator’s successful streaming video, music and content service. It’s also being used to authorize and authenticate subscribers for third-party applications. The operator is yet to be identified.
