The TM Forum added some high-level executive speakers from the global cable industry to its lineup at its Management World 2009 conference, to be held May 4-8, 2009 in Nice, France.
New speakers include: Mehrdad Mansourpour, managing director and CIO, UPC Broadband; Chuck Harvey, vice president of ITS Business Operations for Rogers Communications; Michael Lawrey, executive director of operations for Telstra; Bryn Jones, director of Mobile Delivery for Virgin Media; Frank Bauer, manager of business service assurance for Cablecom; and Rodrigo Duclos, CTO, Net Servicos de Comunicacao S.A.
In addition the the cable industry’s prominent role at this year’s event, the TM Forum will highlight its work in the Internet Protocol Details Record (IPDR) technology, which is used heavily in the cable industry and has been incorporated into the latest DOCSIS standard. It also is embedded in Cablelabs True2way protocol.
UPC’s Mansourpour, will present a keynote address focused on UPC’s transformation program to enable new services and business models, as part of the Business Transformation summit at the international conference.
Jim Warner, head of Content, Digital Media and Advertising at TM Forum, said cable operators face a unique set of operational transformation issues as they seek viable business models that will help them compete in the crowded content market.
