Twitter has already made quite a name for itself during the Iranian presidential protests. Now Google is getting on board, with the announcement that it will start translating Farsi into English on its Google Translate page.
In a statement, Google said, "Like YouTube and other services, Google Translate is one more tool that Persian speakers can use to communicate directly to the world, and vice versa -- increasing everyone's access to information."
The service will translate just about anything, from a blog to an e-mail or a message sent via a social networking site.
The Internet has proved to be valuable resource for protestors to communicate with one another and the outside world, particularly since foreign journalists haven’t been allowed to cover the protests.
