Bolstering its commitment to managed network services, Harris Stratex Networks is building a new network operations center in North Carolina.
The new NOC was inaugurated last week by Harald Braun, president and CEO of Harris Stratex Networks. The center will centrally monitor, manage and control networks for enterprise, carrier, and state and local government customers. It is designed to manage and monitor multi-vendor, multi-protocol network infrastructure, including various subscriber access, 4G/WiMax access, IP backhaul and core network technologies on a 24-hour basis. It will do the same for network elements providing energy, security and surveillance controls.
At the NOC dedication event, Keith Donahue, vice president of the Global Network Services business at Harris Stratex, said the new facility represents a central element of the company’s long-term strategy to provide solutions that create, expand and manage the fabric of next-generation global communications networks. “And it demonstrates our continued commitment to North Carolina and the Research Triangle Park region,” he said.
Services provided through the NOC are part of Harris Stratex Global Network Services (GNS) portfolio of professional services. Managed network services offerings are tailored to meet customers’ specific service-level agreements that meet their business needs and contractual agreements to provide seamless service to their end-users.
"We have learned during the years that telecom service providers are looking for more than just 'break/fix' activities," said Kaily Bissani, principal and managed services solutions architect at Harris Stratex,. "Our managed NOC services solutions use service assurance tools and processes that quickly and efficiently resolve issues. It implies a proactive rather than reactive approach to service quality, enabling our customers to focus on delivering innovative services that attract and retain customers."
At the core of the NOC and the Harris Stratex GNS business are its advanced NetBoss XT service assurance solutions. The technology platform features high-volume event processing and advanced, flexible filtering and correlation capabilities that enable operators to quickly find and focus on service-affecting network issues, determine root causes and isolate trouble spots.
