Employees at information technology company NISC (National Information Solutions Cooperative) raised $15,000 earlier this month for the Lance Armstrong LIVESTRONG Foundation and the American Cancer Society.

The NISC LIVESTRONG Day event, held at NISC locations in Mandan, N.D. and St. Louis, was organized to raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer. Through the tremendous efforts of the employees in both locations, the company says the fundraiser turned into an all-day celebration of life.

“This day will help us learn and understand the importance of true gratitude for our lives, our families and each other. ...To me, LIVESTRONG reminds us to embrace every moment of life as a gift.” said Vern Dosch, NISC’s CEO and president.

Employees seized the day by taking turns at various events to raise money for the cancer fight, even going so far as pie tosses at the vice presidents, drenching the chief operating officer in a splash tank and competing against one another in many different carnival-like activities. The day concluded with a barbecue and family walk.
