A new survey commissioned by Nortel shows that a majority of businesses in China believe their data network infrastructure needs improvement.
Online tech information provider 51CTO conducted the survey. The company polled more than 300 IT managers. Two-thirds said improving data center security is most urgent. Nearly three-quarters said stopping attacks on the network should be the top priority.
Another concern relates to the efficiency and overall speed of disaster recovery operations. IT managers say they want more control over user behavior. They would like to more easily monitor user traffic to help tighten security. Other important needs, according to the survey, are lowering operational costs, enabling better scalability and improving data management capabilities.
On the operation and management side, more than three in five said improving data center management would cut costs.
