Identity-theft protection company LifeLock has awarded BillSoft a contract to process its sales and use taxes.
Sales and use taxes will be processed using BillSoft's EZTax ASP remote-hosted Web service. Whenever a sales transaction occurs, LifeLock's billing system will send the transaction electronically to BillSoft's EZTax application. The taxes on that particular sale are then calculated in real time and immediately returned to LifeLock's billing program.
BillSoft says EZTax can process sales and use taxes at the rate of 1.8 billion transactions per hour. And because taxes can change month to month among thousands of tax jurisdictions, BillSoft has tax experts on staff whose No. 1 job is to stay on top of tax laws.
For LifeLock, having BillSoft on board simplifies a key aspect of the company's billing procedures.
