Skyline Communications is taking the wraps off the DataMiner 6.5 update to Skyline’s DataMiner Network Management System platform and will be demonstrating it for the first time at IBC2010, coming up in September in Amsterdam.

The multi-vendor network management solution targets operators in the IPTV, HFC broadband, broadcast and satellite industry, and with the new release offers several updates. These include the new DataMiner Cube UI, the latest version of the DataMiner CPE Manager and a new version of DataMiner’s service management technology.

DataMiner Cube UI

This new user interface enables operators to interact with their entire operational ecosystem, end-to-end with greater speed and efficiency than previously available in conventional UIs, thanks to user-definable drag ‘n drop capabilities, real-time and historical graphing, and intuitive system navigation methods.

DataMiner CPE Manager

By mining valuable key performance data from every single CPE object (such as set-top boxes, cable & DSL modems, eMTAs, etc.), at speeds approaching 3,000 elements per second, DataMiner CPE Manager enables the DataMiner platform to provide an extremely detailed and precise look at every element that can impact a network’s performance. DataMiner CPE Manager uses cross-correlation analysis to compare the vast amount of operational data it has collected against a comprehensive, multi-dimensional system model – in real-time – ensuring that DataMiner locates the root-cause of any operational problem with surgical precision at the moment it happens. This real-time monitoring and analysis of resources is vital to any operator in growing and competitive multi-platform markets like HFC broadband and IPTV.

DataMiner Service Management Technology

The consolidated service management technology analyzes the entire operational ecosystem, across vendor and technology boundaries, and generates services according to the user-defined business logic. Service management includes dynamic service tracking, real-time SLA tracking, MS Visio graphical service presentations, automated root-cause-analysis and much more. Operators managing digital headends, satellite links, terrestrial networks, MPLS networks, or service-quality monitoring solutions with transport stream analyzers and probes are among the users who will benefit from this latest innovation.

The Skyline Communications DataMiner platform is integrated with over 1750 devices and systems and has been deployed by operators worldwide, such as Belgacom, Broadcasting Center Europe, Eutelsat, GlobeCast, MTV, RTL-TVI, Telenor and Virgin Media.
