AT&T has just made it easier for football fans, movie buffs and other couch potatoes to help themselves to a bigger menu of services. They don’t even have to reach for the phone or get up to go to their PCs. Self serve has come to U-verse.

The company launched U-verse Account Manager this week. The on-screen application gives U-verse customers easy access to make TV package upgrades, compare packages, view channel lineups, view their account summary, view product overviews and ordering information on U-verse High Speed Internet, U-verse Voice and other services using their remote control. U-verse TV customers can also schedule their recordings, download and watch hit TV shows on qualifying smartphones with U-verse Mobile.

Account Manager lets U-verse customers instantly upgrade their subscription by going to channel 9910. AT&T will roll the application out on a market-by-market basis.

AT&T also is bringing back Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football in time for the new season. This application allows users to track their Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football team and receive customized information on teams through the AT&T U-bar.
