Three years into a comprehensive, 10-year back office integration project for IBM India with IDEA Cellularin India, IBM and Subex Limited will work together on the implementation of Subex’s ROC for Interconnect Billing.
The overall projects could be worth as much as $600 million to $800 million, depending upon IDEA’s business revenues and circle expansion, and includes billing, revenue assurance, credit collection, subscriber management, business intelligence, fraud management, customer relationship management, e-billing and payment, and customer self-care.
IDEA chose this Subex solution to address its interconnect billing and reconciliation needs. The solution will be implemented through IBM, acting as IDEA’s Strategic IT Outsourcing Partner. IBM will help transition the current service-bureau solution to Subex’s solution deployed in-house. Subex already is in partnership with IBM for fraud management at IDEA.
Sudeesh Yezhuvath, COO at Subex, said the ROC Interconnect Billing will enable IDEA to focus on newer sources of revenue by bettering their new services, while streamlining complex revenue sharing agreements. “Along with this, IDEA will now be able to easily detect any billing errors and correct them proactively,” he said.
