Amdocs and Vesta Corp., a provider of electronic payment solutions, announced a partnership agreement this week to whereby the companies will incorporate Vesta’s proprietary top-up service with Amdocs Prepaid real-time charging and customer management solution.
The companies cited research they said indicated that prepaid subscriptions claimed 72 percent of all global subscriptions in the second quarter of 2009. This presents a challenge for service providers as it increased the potential for churn when customers don’t have contracts.
Rebecca Prudhomme, vice president of product and solutions marketing at Amdocs, said prepaid offerings mostly focus on real-time charging and replenishment capabilities. “Our partnership with Vesta is just the first step in expanding Amdocs’ offering to help our customers to deliver a more compelling prepaid experience," she said.
Matt Hall, vice president of business development at Vesta, said that the joint solution reduces this risk of churn by assuring a good user experience enhanced by extremely convenient top-up channels coupled with innovative pricing schemes.
Amdocs Prepaid provides advanced charging capabilities for the creation of sophisticated offers that bundle services and prepaid/postpaid payment channels. It is based on Amdocs’ Turbo Charging technology which has set the industry record for real-time charging performance by processing 276 million calls during peak calling hours.
Vesta’s Mobile Payment Platform enables end-users to top-up quickly, securely, and without registering, through a selection of direct payment channels. It also allows the service provider to decline fewer top-up requests and reduce the risk associated with non-cash payments.
