Serbia’s main telco, Telekom Srbija, has signed a contract for Aumne ’s SMS messaging solution. This will enable Telekom Srbija to expand value-added service offerings to mobile customers in its mt:s (Mobile Telephony of Serbia) division. Positioned as an upgrade to standard SMS messaging applications, customers in the region will be able to use Indigo SMS to secure text communications residing not only on their phone but those being transmitted over the air as well.
"Indigo SMS represents a significant advancement in how SMS traffic will be handled across our wireless networks. We believe that the security and privacy of aspects of Indigo SMS become increasingly relevant as customers pass more personal data across this popular communications channel," said Vladimir Lucic, chief commercial officer, Telekom Serbia.
Under the agreement, Telekom Srbija will begin distributing Indigo SMS in the third quarter of this year. With product support for multiple mobile operating systems including: RIM, Windows Mobile, Symbian, and J2ME, Indigo SMS is widely-available on most text-capable smart phones, PDAs, and other devices. Aumne has planned releases for both Google's Android OS and the Apple iPhone.
"Working with Telekom Srbija affords us an invaluable presence in the marketplace. We are pleased to be partnering with a company who understands changing customer needs and can adapt accordingly," said Stephen Dukes, COO, Aumne.
