Alcatel-Lucent has named former BT executive George Nazi as a senior executive in the Quality Assurance and Customer Care team.
Nazi, who will be based in Paris, will serve as the deputy to Janet Davidson, who is the executive vice president of Alcatel-Lucent and president of Quality Assurance and Customer Care.
The appointment takes effect February 15.
Nazi was responsible for BT’s “21st Century Network transformation program (21C), as well as the business’ global networks and IT infrastructure platforms," Alcatel-Lucent stated in a press release. He also held executive positions with Level 3 Communications and WorldCom and founded a competitive local exchange carrier in 1998.
“George brings world-class expertise and a proven track record on managing and deploying complex networks," Alcatel-Lucent CEO Ben Verwaayen said.
Nazi earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Tulsa University in 1992.
