OSS software provider Comptel Corp. has signed a new, multi-year contract with Australia’s NBN Co to supply Comptel Fulfillment. The solution will support the delivery of IP services on the broadband network NBN Co is deploying.
NBN Co is being funded by the Australian government to design, build and operate a next-generation, national broadband network (NBN) that will connect 93 percent of all Australian premises with fiber-based services, and the remaining 7 percent with next-generation wireless and satellite technologies. NBN will use Comptel’s catalog-driven fulfillment solution, including logical and service inventory and service lifecycle management, to ensure wholesale services are delivered fast and efficiently on the network to the retail channels.
The delivery will be done in collaboration with Comptel partner Alcatel-Lucent.
NBN Co will eventually make services accessible at 10 million premises in Australia, the culmination of the country’s single largest infrastructure project ever.
“The NBN project is a very high profile project. Developments are being followed closely not just in Australia, but also worldwide. We are very proud to play a part in this exciting project, and look forward to working with NBN Co and Alcatel-Lucent," said Mika Korpinen, SVP, Asia-Pacific.
