BT Diamond IP is launching IPControl version 4.0, the latest release of its IP address management (IPAM) solution.

The release, the company says, is the first to support International Domain Names (IDN), and offers users a host of new features and benefits, including several usability enhancements based on customer input and feedback.  New features include:

  • International Domain Names for Applications (IDNA) support – allows users around the world to enter host and domain names in native character sets.  IPControl automatically converts these entries into DNS-compatible ASCII characters for provision of DNS servers, while retaining native character representations for easier management.
  • Site templates – enable the allocation of multiple subnets in one step in accordance with a selected site template.  This eases the process for organizations adding allocations for a new branch office or retail store for example, which typically requires subnets for voice, data, wireless, and management networks.
  • Additional administrator controls for further granularity on administrator scope of visibility and control – gives master administrators more freedom to delegate to other administrators while constraining their scope of control.
  • Expanded replication capabilities for always-on IPAM to complement highly available DNS and DHCP deployments.

IPControl version 4.0 is upgradeable to existing customers at no cost and is also available to new users.
