Telecom software provider Comarch has joined forces with OpenCloud to enable service providers to increase service innovation with open-development techniques. The agreement aims to help providers operate efficiently within a multiservice and multi-network environment.

Comarch brings to the table a large product and service portfolio, while OpenCloud describes its Rhino platform as flexible, open and standards-based. Both companies will also collaborate in developing new telecom applications and next-generation intelligent networks. With Comarch's cross-domain experience in BSS, OSS, mobile applications and network integrations, and OpenCloud's technology for real-time execution of applications written in Java, the companies say their team-up will help operators build and deliver end-to-end services in SS7 and IP-based (IMS/LTE) networks.

"By blending OpenCloud's leading-edge technology with Comarch's knowledge and experience, our partnership yields a powerful solution that addresses operators' demand for innovation and flexibility," said Jeff Gordon, CEO of OpenCloud.

"These days, the ability to support the rapid and low-cost development of services and applications is critical," said Piotr Machnik, EVP Product Management & Marketing, Comarch. “We believe that our partnership with OpenCloud adds a new perspective to the traditional delivery of service models, thus enabling service providers to offer innovative services fast and efficiently."
