Finland-based mobile operator DNA has ordered EXFO’s BrixHawk SA Service Assurance Solution to expand its 3G monitoring, analytics and reporting capabilities to include 4G LTE for voice and roaming services. There will be a focus on operational efficiency that EXFO says will translate into significant OPEX savings.

Just last year, DNA selected EXFO's BrixHawk SA, formerly known under the name BrixMobile, to monitor its IP-based, circuit-switched 2G/3G mobile network. The operator has now decided to continue using EXFO Service Assurance products to expand 3G reporting capabilities and monitor 4G LTE. The scalable and flexible architecture of BrixHawk SA was the crucial factor in DNA's choice of a service assurance solution.

"BrixHawk SA has helped us facilitate monitoring and troubleshooting – significantly reducing the time it takes to identify problems in the network," said Toni Nevalainen, system specialist at DNA. "In addition to expanding our reporting capabilities, BrixHawk SA improves overall quality of our networks by offering flexible architecture to extend the system without operational downtimes, requiring no training sessions for network monitoring – whether for our public-switched transport network (PSTN) or 4G LTE network."
