Deutsche Telekom (DT) customers in Germany now have the option of paying for apps – downloaded from the Android Market – on their monthly cell-phone bill or on their prepaid credit.
Customers who want to pay for an app on their DT bill just need to select their cell-phone account as the payment method in the Android Market. If you’ve previously paid for apps via credit card, you can simply change the payment method. The apps will automatically be put on the customer’s cell bill or deducted from their prepaid credit.
This carrier-billing feature will soon be coming to customers in Europe outside of Germany. T-Mobile USA, a DT subsidiary, was the first in America to offer carrier billing for Android.
DT also provides the service for the Nokia Store.
