Quebec-based EXFO has launched its EXpert IPTV Test Tools, the latest addition to its FTB platform-based EXpert testing software series.
EXFO says that combined with the EXpert IP and EXpert VoIP applications, as well as EXFO’s FTB-1 Ethernet and OTDR test modules, EXpert IPTV offers the most comprehensive and powerful triple-play solution in a portable device designed for growing FTTH deployments worldwide.
The EXpert IPTV application allows FTB-1 platform users to quickly and easily perform pass/fail verification of IPTV installations, EXFO said. It’s designed to reduce the amount of service calls by detecting and clearly identifying through simple pass/fail indications any degrading conditions during service turn-up, ensuring subscribers' quality of experience. EXpert IPTV can emulate a set-top box, and displays a real-time video preview, allowing the technician to determine video and audio quality before any other equipment is installed.
