BSS provider Subex has received the International Standard Organization (ISO) Information Security Management System (ISMS) accreditation, ISO 27001, to support its work for BT. The world’s leading CSPs are starting to demand the ISO 27001 accreditation from all their main software and services suppliers, as Subex’s accreditation demonstrates.
ISO 27001 is part of a family of Information Security Management System (ISMS) standards and formally specifies a management system to bring information security under explicit management control. Organizations that claim to have adopted ISO/IEC 27001 can be formally audited and certified compliant with the standard. For the ISO/IEC 27001 certification, Subex was audited and recommended for accreditation by Intertek. BT Security carried out its own audit and awarded Subex their highest information security rating.
Subex says an auditable management system for information security becomes even more important as CSPs increase their levels of management services and cloud computing. ISO 27001 is considered an extremely rigorous standard and CSP suppliers like Subex have to undergo extensive testing before they can be certified compliant by one of the “Accredited Registrars."
“BT is one of the world’s leading communications providers and the company is constantly driving quality benchmarks," said Paul Skillen, president of Subex EMEA. “We expect the same level of demand of information security from our other Tier 1 customers and Subex has demonstrated it can meet the highest requirements through the recent ISO 27001 audit process."
