OSS software vendor Comptel Corp. has a new deal with Bangladeshi mobile operator Robi Axiata. The Asian carrier has chosen Comptel Provisioning & Activation and Comptel Catalog to replace its existing postpaid, prepaid and VAS provisioning systems. The Comptel solutions are expected to help Robi improve time-to-market and ensure low service-deployment error rates.

Robi Axiata Limited is a joint venture company between Axiata Group Berhad, Malaysia and NTT DoCoMo, Japan. It is the fastest growing and third largest mobile operator in Bangladesh, serving more than 15 million subscribers, and is a new customer for Comptel.

Comptel Provisioning & Activation and Comptel Catalog are components of Comptel Fulfillment, a fully integrated suite of products that also encompasses order management and service and resource inventory capabilities.

“Our requirement was a fully automated provisioning solution that was capable of handling customer orders to activating services in the network all the way up to the start of billing," said A.K.M. Morshed, chief technology officer, Robi Axiata. “Comptel Provisioning and Activation will help us control costs, reduce manual errors and deliver services to customers without delay, thus increasing satisfaction and reducing churn."
