Just days after announcing a contract execution with pharmaceutical giant Bristol-Myers Squibb, BT on Wednesday revealed entering into a four-year networked IT services contract with Staples, the global office supply chain store.
BT said it's connecting 325 Staples offices and stores across seven countries in Europe into a single secure wide area network environment.
The London-based telecommunications titan will provide Staples with an intelligent IP Virtual Private Network service over BT's infrastructure across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.
"We are working towards one single, European supplier because of their reliability, flexibility and ability to offer us a high-bandwidth, cost-effective wide area network -- regardless of underlying technology or office location," said Kevin Milliken, senior vice president and head of Information Technology at Staples, in a statement.
BT's disclosed deal with Staples comes on the heels of an agreement the telco announced last week with Bristol-Myers Squibb to manage its global network services through 2017.
